TURNOUT 2
february - march 2025
Getting thrown into a snowy post-apocalyptic zombie scenario sure wasn't in his plans, but Pohl did his best to adjust to the circumstances. Initial tensions started high, with Pohl noting that he appeared to be the only non-human member of his team, and only escalated from there, as he was bitten by a zombie during his very first scouting mission. The location of the bite meant that amputation was not an option; Pohl felt he had to hide his infection until deception no longer became an option. And while the reception to his confession wasn't as bad as he'd feared, and he at least managed to avoid an immediate execution, the fallout of it remained grim. Despite his best efforts, tensions in the group only escalated as a result of his lies. In the end, Pohl opted to request for a mercy killing before he lost himself to the haze of his infection; though he would have no way of knowing it, even his exit caused a non-trivial amount of turmoil following his passing. Despite his good intentions and best efforts along every step of the way, his presence only caused strife from beginning to end -- a failure for Kazdel's famed "Consultant."
Amidst troubling circumstances. Pohl did at least find some comfort in companionship. Despite some rocky first impressions due to his Sarkaz features, Pohl eventually forged a friendship with Maria, and the two supported each other after both being infected in the first week. Denji also proved to be a surprisingly staunch friend despite his ... everything.
Both Amos and Leda were figures that Pohl considered reliable. ... and so it is a shame that the two ended up clashing ferociously following Pohl's request to Leda for a mercy killing. Perhaps it's for the best that this happened after his passing, and thus he wasn't forced to see how much conflict his choices had inadvertently caused.

PERFECT MATCH
( Are You The One - Round 7 )
june 2025
Dating shows might not be a part of his usual oeuvre, but let it never be said that the Enigma Syndrome isn't up for a challenge. Rom initially joined the cast of Perfect Match as an entirely cynical and calculated move -- willing to play along with the show's conceit, yes, and even willing to do whatever the cameras might need of him, but never once believing that he would actually be able to engage with the show's premise sincerely. An exorcist like himself simply has no place amongst such earnest happenings, after all. However, four weeks of surprising developments wore him down, and he ultimately had to acknowledge that he is as susceptible to human emotions as any other person might be, and furthermore, that a cozy place in the world can be carved out even for someone like him. Despite a rocky start and plenty of misgivings, Rom eventually left the show with a trustworthy business partner and a number of new friendships to call his own -- not bad at all for a month's work.
Though he initially thought little of his relationship to Edamura beyond a relief at finding a familiar flavor of person (hapless normal person) to prod at, four weeks taught Rom that the two of them have an incredible amount in common. What started as an extremely tenuous friendship(?) eventually blossomed into a steadfast "business partnership" and more. The fact that they were a game-designated Perfect Match was only the cherry on an already-very-delightful cake.
Outside of his match, Rom had a rather contentious relationship with the game's overseer, Wei Wuxian due to some crucial mutual misunderstandings. Similarly, though he initially considered Messmer a solid option as his game match, their tendencies to speak past each other led to some awkward conversations. In the end, most tensions were smoothed out by the game's finale, and Rom was able to depart the estate with plenty of new friendships in his pocket.

PUPPYCRUSH 3
( Are You The One - Round 9 )
january 2026
Perhaps selfishly, Senga accepted his invitation onto the show with zero intention of seeking romance. He's sick and tired of all the drama, after all -- he can't walk down the hall at school without a girl or ten swooning over him. Instead, he was drawn to the promise that contestants from different worlds would be in attendance; he hoped to make a new friend or two. Admittedly, the entire show ended up being rather different from what he expected. His alluring scent worked differently from how he expected it to, some of his fellow contestants needed their wishes so much more desperately than he ever could have expected, and ... he was able to make far more friends than he ever hoped. Though the month's time was highly tumultuous, with week after week of failure despite their best efforts, everything panned out in the end with a clutch victory. Weeks of stress and doing his best to rally for his new friends was pretty exhausting, but Senga considers it to have all been worth it to see them happy in the end. And while he personally expects that they'll probably forget about him as soon as they're all settled back home ... he'd be happy to be proven wrong.
Probably unsurprising that Senga's relationship with a good chunk of the cast was tumultuous to start with, given his general attitude towards interpersonal relationships. After tensions built over the first two weeks, they hit a peak after a direct clash with Fiona, resulting in a ugly, teary, sulking fit.
The conflict was ultimately for the better though, as it showed Senga exactly how differently his alluring scent worked while participating in the show. Once the shock of this revelation wore off, he was able to pull himself together and properly make friends with a good chunk of the cast. Though he never managed to fully shake off his mindset of relationships needing to be transactional, he did end up softening his stance towards his new friends, doing his best not to think too hard about checks and balances while trying to help them.
It was amidst this mess that he also somehow ended up bonding with Otogi -- she found something charming(?) in his crashout, and Senga was equally smitten by the moments she'd bully him. But past that surface-level infatuation(???), they found a commonality in their need for masks and facades. It was a genuine shock to Senga when Otogi professed to having genuine feelings for him late in the game, and while a part of him continues to feel cagey about such matters ... he knows dismissing them entirely would be a disservice to Otogi. Though unwilling to promise her anything, he'd like to do his consider the matter of romance seriously for once so he can answer her properly sometime.
